Filey station has unveiled a series of colourful new artworks, created by students from Calderdale College.<\/a><\/p>\n

The artwork has been installed to enhance the appearance of some temporary boarding on the doors and windows of the station waiting room, as well windows near to the footbridge.<\/p>\n

It shows everything from seafront scenes to passengers enjoying a fire in the old waiting room, and has been hailed as a welcome addition to the station.<\/p>\n

Kerry Peters, Regional Director at Northern<\/a>, said: \u201cI would like to say a huge thank you to the incredibly talented students whose artwork now has pride-of-place at the station.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is such a wonderful welcome for anyone using the station.\u201d<\/p>\n

The artwork was installed by the property management service, ISS and Calderdale College and was funded by Northern.<\/p>\n

Members of Northern, ISS, and Calderdale College were supported by Yorkshire Coast Community Rail Partnership (YCCRP) and North Yorkshire Council (NYC) whilst installing the artwork, and much needed refreshments were provided by The Saucy Seagull caf\u00e9 which is based at Filey station.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
