margin:0 0 10px 10px;\"><figcaption>Image\/Canberra Metro<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>The ACT Government has released the transport update to the ACT Infrastructure Plan, outlining work completed since 2019 and further short, medium and long-term investments in the Territory\u2019s transport system.<\/strong><span id=\"more-117136\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The release of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.builtforcbr.act.gov.au\/infrastructure-plan\">ACT Infrastructure Plan Update:\u00a0Transport<\/a>\u00a0outlines projects the Government will continue to invest in to make it easier for Canberrans to get from A to B, whether on foot or by bicycle, car, bus or light rail.<\/p>\n<p>This includes the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.railexpress.com.au\/unpacking-canberras-light-rail\/\">extension of the light rail<\/a> network south through the city to Commonwealth Park, the National Triangle and on to Woden.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Minister Andrew Barr said the ACT Government is continuing to deliver the job-creating <a href=\"http:\/\/builtforcbr.act.gov.au\/\">infrastructure<\/a> and services for a growing Canberra.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The release of the latest ACT Infrastructure Plan sector update reinforces our commitment to increase transport options for Canberrans, now and into the future,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This includes one-in-a-generation projects like Canberra\u2019s light rail network, as well as significant upgrades across our suburbs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Other initiatives include the Garden City and Kingston Cycleways, the Molonglo River Bridge, and road upgrades right across Canberra.<\/p>\n<p>Minister for Transport Chris Steel said the ACT Government envisions a transport system that supports a liveable, sustainable and connected city with flexible and reliable journey options.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We understand Canberrans need a range of transport options to suit their needs, whether travelling by public transport, car, bike or on foot \u2013 or a combination of these,&#8221;
