margin:0 0 10px 10px;\"><figcaption>Image: Henk Vrieselaar\/stock.adobe.com<br \/>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\"><strong><span class=\"normaltextrun\" lang=\"EN-US\">The Victorian Government\u2019s first train from its latest order of new, locally made regional trains has started taking passengers\u2013 supporting growing demand and increasing reliability on the V\/Line network.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span id=\"more-117138\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\" lang=\"EN-US\">VLocity train number 119 is the first of 23 new trains ordered as part a $601 million investment in the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dtf.vic.gov.au\/state-budget\/2023-24-state-budget\"><em><span class=\"normaltextrun\" lang=\"EN-US\">Victorian Budget 2023\/24<\/span><\/em><\/a><span class=\"normaltextrun\" lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0\u2013 which will help deliver on our $219 million investment of almost 200 additional weekend V\/Line train services progressively in the coming years, meeting the increased popularity of regional rail travel in Victoria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\" lang=\"EN-US\">This order of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.railexpress.com.au\/manufacturing-begins-on-new-vlocity-trains\/\">VLocitys<\/a> is replacing our longest serving Classic Fleet trains \u2013 boosting Victoria\u2019s VLocity fleet to 141 trains once the rollout is complete.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\" lang=\"EN-US\">The extra trains will deliver more reliable journeys on the Geelong and Bacchus Marsh corridors, and will also help lift capacity on the Melton line by 50 per cent, with nine-car services to be introduced following the completion of the Melton Line Upgrade.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"normaltextrun\" lang=\"EN-US\">Minister for Public and Active Transport Gabrielle Williams spoke about the program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\" lang=\"EN-US\">\u201cWhether it\u2019s upgrading every regional rail line, building more VLocity trains or delivering more services &#8211;
