assets from VicTrack, will share $500,000 in funding from the Federal Government.<\/strong><span id=\"more-117110\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The successful applicants will share in the funding through VicTrack\u2019s Community Grants Program.<\/p>\n<p>Now in its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.railexpress.com.au\/grants-offered-for-victrack-tenants\/\">second year<\/a>, the grants program supports community organisations to maintain or refurbish their assets leased from VicTrack, including public open spaces, tourist and heritage railways and libraries.<\/p>\n<p>As many groups are subject to environmental and heritage regulations relating to the assets they lease, they can also use the grants to help them meet these obligations.<\/p>\n<p>VicTrack makes underused land and buildings available to community organisations through its community leasing program.<\/p>\n<p>The first round of funding last year awarded a total of more than half a million dollars to 66 not-for-profit groups.<\/p>\n<p>Community groups can now apply for the grants, applications are open for six weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Gabrielle Williams, Minister for Public and Active Transport said the government received a fantastic response to the launch last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGroups across the state used the funding they received to preserve historic rail precincts, maintain the railway corridor and create amazing public spaces,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe second round of community grants is a great opportunity for more tourist and heritage rail groups to receive funding, supporting the essential
