{"id":10746,"date":"2024-02-12T20:37:22","date_gmt":"2024-02-12T10:37:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=10746"},"modified":"2024-02-12T20:37:22","modified_gmt":"2024-02-12T10:37:22","slug":"brand-new-trains-run-hourly-between-chester-and-liverpool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=10746","title":{"rendered":"Brand-new trains run hourly between Chester and Liverpool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tfw.wales\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Transport for Wales<\/a> (TfW) is reintroducing hourly rail services between Chester and Liverpool via Runcorn, Helsby and Frodsham.<\/p>\n<p>Starting today (Monday 12 February), the step-up in services will increase from 15 to 30 a day in total (15 in each direction) and will be delivered on brand-new trains, improving the customer experience and connectivity of the region.<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy Minister for Climate Change with responsibility for Transport, Lee Waters, said:\u00a0\u201cThis is great news. These new trains will provide a much-improved passenger experience with more regular services on modern comfortable trains, encouraging more people to leave the car at home and let the train take the strain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jan Chaudhry van der Velde, TfW Chief Operating Officer said:\u00a0\u201cMore deliveries of our brand-new trains mean we are now in a position to reinstate the hourly service between Chester and Liverpool via Frodsham and Runcorn. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cServices on this route were first launched in 2019, and provide good connectivity with Liverpool John Lennon Airport via the station call at Liverpool South Parkway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe investment in new trains, built at manufacturer CAF\u2019s factory in Newport South Wales, reflects part of an ongoing \u00a3800m transformation of the network.\u201d<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Transport for Wales (TfW) is reintroducing hourly rail services between Chester and Liverpool via Runcorn, Helsby and Frodsham.
