The proposed design of four stations and precincts along the Sydney Metro<\/a> \u2013 Western Sydney Airport alignment have been revealed, with the community now invited to have their say.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The next stage in the planning process includes the designs for the St Marys Metro Station and Precinct, Orchard Hills Metro Station and Precinct, Luddenham Precinct, Bradfield Metro Station and Precinct, as well as active transport for the whole alignment.<\/p>\n

The community are now invited to provide feedback on the proposed designs, with the Sydney Metro \u2013 Western Sydney Airport Stage Two Place, Urban Design and Corridor Landscape Plan on display until Sunday September 8, 2024.<\/p>\n

The plan has been developed in two stages to allow for the construction of the new metro line to be delivered progressively.<\/p>\n

Stage One exhibition and consultation on the designs for the Stabling and Maintenance Facility at Orchard Hills and the Metro Station Building at Luddenham was completed in late 2023.<\/p>\n

The proposed design included in Stage Two is inspired by the qualities of the Cumberland Plain landscape to establish a sense of connection to place, people and communities of Western Sydney.<\/p>\n

Major construction work on the Sydney Metro \u2013 Western Sydney Airport line started in late 2022, with the 9.8-kilometre of tunnelling for the project completed in June 2024<\/a>. Work is now underway to fit out the tunnels and build six new world-class stations along the 23-kilometre alignment.<\/p>\n

Separately, Transport for NSW has released the Precinct, Luddenham Precinct, Bradfield Metro Station and Precinct for a new footbridge to connect the current St Marys Station with the future metro station, and landscaping for the northern entry on Harris Street. The community is invited to provide feedback on the plan up until Sunday September 8, 2024.<\/p>\n

When Sydney Metro \u2013 Western Sydney Airport opens, passengers will have a world-class transport option directly to the new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport and major job hubs and connect to Greater Sydney, including Bradfield city centre.<\/p>\n

It is expected that the end-to-end journey time between the St Marys Metro Station and Bradfield Metro Station would be around 20 minutes.<\/p>\n

The Australian and NSW Governments have a shared objective of having Sydney Metro \u2013 Western Sydney Airport operational when the new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport opens for passenger services in late 2026.<\/p>\n
