The shortage of bus drivers is the \u201cweakest link\u201d in Government plans to reduce vehicle emissions by boosting public transport use. That\u2019s according to Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency public transport manager Delany Myers.<\/p>\n
Myers addressed the audience at the Bus and Coach Association Conference at Rotorua\u2019s Energy Events Centre on Monday, telling them \u201cthe expectations for public transport have never been higher\u201d.<\/p>\n
She said Government wanted to see vehicle emissions reduced by 41 per cent by 2035, and that\u00a0a shortage of drivers\u00a0was \u201cone of the biggest challenges we\u2019ve got at the moment to achieving that target under the emissions plan\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
