METRONET<\/a> is ticking off major items on the project \u2018to do list\u2019 with all five stations now permanently connected to power. 100 per cent of the rail has also been laid and will be electrified in late-August. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Ellenbrook Station<\/b><\/p>\n

With Ellenbrook Station completed earlier this year and public art pieces now featured throughout the station precinct,<\/p>\n

landscaping using native shrubs and trees has added the finishing touches to the station. Art by\u00a0Marcia McGuire, Penelope Forlano, Kamsani Bin-Salleh, Nathan Corunna and Darren Hutchens<\/em>\u00a0have been installed, with an entry sculpture by\u00a0April Pine<\/em>\u00a0to be installed in the forecourt later this year.<\/p>\n

Whiteman Park Station<\/b><\/p>\n

All\u00a0public art\u00a0has been installed at the station with a standout feature being the sculptured concrete mussels by artist Pip Kelly that have a significant link to nearby\u00a0Mussel Pool in Whiteman Park. Learn more about this creative piece from the artist herself\u00a0here.<\/a><\/p>\n

With the cladding, paving, lifts and escalators all in place, the remaining works are moving rapidly. Lighting has been installed and is ready for commissioning, and works continue on the new pedestrian underpass on Drumpellier Drive and Youle-Dean Road to provide a link between the station and the nearby Brabham community. This underpass has come to life with artwork\u00a0by Rohin Kickett and Haylee Fieldes (Fieldey).<\/p>\n

N<\/b>oranda Station<\/b><\/p>\n

The station entry on Benara Road is being transformed with paving and tiling, the overpasses and station concourses are well underway, and \u00a0works on the car park have started. Station seating, shelters, intercoms, and signage are being installed and nightworks in April and May enabled barriers under the Broun Avenue Bridge to go in. Flowerbeds around the station are being planted with local native shrubs and trees, and the \u00a0much-anticipated Benara Road underpass opened in early-July.<\/p>\n

Morley Station<\/b><\/p>\n

The station\u2019s steel structure and public art in the form of screens and skylights are complete. The multi-storey car park is being finished by the project contractor and the spectator retaining wall, footpath and landscaping around Morley Windmills Soccer Club has started.<\/p>\n
